1. Who these terms are with
SiriTools ("the Service", "we", "us") is a sole proprietorship based in British Columbia, Canada. We can be reached at hello@siritools.com.
2. Acceptance
By accessing or using SiriTools you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Service. If you are using SiriTools on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
3. What the Service is
SiriTools provides free, browser-based tools for converting and editing files. All processing takes place on your own device using JavaScript running in your browser. We do not receive, transmit, store or process the contents of your files.
Because of this, you remain solely responsible for your files at every stage. We cannot recover, restore or re-send anything you process here, as no copy ever reaches us.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use SiriTools to:
- Process material you do not have the legal right to process
- Infringe copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property rights
- Handle material that is unlawful under Canadian law or the law applying to you
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, probe or gain unauthorised access to the site or its hosting
- Introduce malware, or use automated systems to scrape or hammer the Service
- Copy, rebrand or resell the Service or its code as your own offering
- Interfere with, obscure, or artificially interact with any advertising shown on the site
5. No warranty
SiriTools is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law. In particular we do not warrant that:
- Any conversion will be complete, accurate, or fit for a particular purpose
- The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, or free of errors
- Results will be compatible with any specific software or workflow
File conversion is lossy by nature. Layouts shift, formatting is approximated, and some content cannot be carried between formats at all — for example, PDF-to-Word recovers text but does not rebuild page layout, and strong PDF compression converts pages to images, removing the selectable text layer. These are inherent limits of the formats, not defects.
Always keep your original file. Never use SiriTools output as the only copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue, business or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service — whether based on contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, and whether or not we were advised of the possibility of such damage.
Because the Service is provided free of charge and we receive no payment from you, our total aggregate liability arising from or relating to the Service shall not exceed CAD $100.
7. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator of SiriTools against any claims, damages, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your misuse of the Service or your breach of these terms.
8. Advertising and third parties
This site displays advertising served by Google AdSense, and may link to third-party websites. We do not control advertiser content and are not responsible for the products, services, or content of any third party. Dealings with advertisers are solely between you and them. See the Privacy Policy for how advertising data is handled.
9. Intellectual property
The SiriTools name, site design and original code remain the property of the operator. The Service is built on open-source libraries which remain the property of their respective authors and are used under their own licences.
You retain all rights to your own files. We acquire no licence, ownership or interest in anything you process — which follows automatically from never receiving it.
10. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice. These terms may also be updated; the version on this page, with the "last updated" date above, is always the operative one. Continuing to use the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of it.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia for any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms.
12. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, that provision shall be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.
